I’m back from Italy and from an amazing week full of exciting people, great conversations, great places and great wine & food.
EWBC was again marked by a truly great experience of meeting old friends and making new ones.
“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.” – Anais Nin
Now I’ll let my photos tell the story of the trip to Italy:
The nice Romano di Lombardia train station where I was kicked out of the train from Milan to Brescia for not validating the ticket and for not wanting to pay the proposed bribe. It seems funny now.
Il Mosnel Brut 1990. One of the top wines of the BYOB Dinner.
The view from TRAMIN winery Termeno on the Alto Adige/South-Tyrol region.
The beautiful EWBC 2011 venue which was actually the Museo del monastero di Santa Giulia in Brescia. Great choice for a conference venue.
Alto Adige is definitely one of the most beautiful wine regions the world.
Brescia is specially beautiful at dawn (unexpectedly I got to see it a couple of times).
Tuscany in all it's glory. Amazing landscape.
Fresh ingredients and simple recipes. Italian food is delicious.
Visiting Chianti Classico is discovering an exciting mix of History, Arts, and Culture. All leading to some great wines.
Chianti Classico is full of impeccably maintained wineries.
A dog is a man's best friend (this one happens to be one of my best friends too).
Angelika's beautiful. Enough said.
Anish Kapoor's art work at Castello di Ama. One of the best moments of the visit to Chianti Classico.
Best part of all. Good friends.
Thank you Paolo Epifani for putting up with us and for a great experience in Chianti Classico. Thank you Silvia Fiorentini too!
Dinner at Dario Cecchini's, Italy most exciting butcher. We had great food and we had great wine and we prayed. We had the Queen of Holland and we had Grappa but most of all we had loads of fun.
Here's to you Thomas!
A video I filmed during the EWBC Post Trip. We had fun in Chianti Classico.
Thank you all for sharing a delicious 1978 Niepoort Colheita.

Remember, it’s all about the people.
Thank you Gabriella, Ryan & Robert for putting up this great experience.
